さよなら みんな。。。

I had to say goodbye... I made two goodbye's... one for Facebook and one for GameFAQs...
Here's FaceBook... I don't think I ended up posting the silly section though...

Hello everyone, I'm gonna be leaving soon.
I'm going to go serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for the next two years of my life.
I won't be able to use the internet *muffled scream* But I'm all right with that, I've comes to grips with that fact. You know why? 'Cuz I'm going to Japan! :3

And so as this place will be one of my last acts before leaving for a whole two years, I leave with some of the knowledge I've gained from the internet, I give you the gift... of LINKS! (I highly recommend using your middle click on your mouse wheel to open all this awesomeness up into tabs)

First of all, Lifehacker.com. Holy crap, this place is amazing. This is by far the best blog on the internet. I'm sorry Dr. Horrible, that's just the case. Do you guys need examples of the sheer awesomeness of lifehacker?

Self Explanatory, just look at the title! Yes, it's that awesome:
We all seem to be using GMail anyway, so use some quick commands to be faster! Create filters and use GMail Labs to increase your productivity.
And for all the students here:
Keep watch over the latest with the Dealhacker tab:
This is a cool envelope hack:
This, just this:
And if you didn't find anything up there you liked from lifehacker... click around here and see if you find anything you like:

Okay, are all alright from lifehacker, can you guys breathe from the sheer effectiveness you can be now that you've experienced the lifehack? Feel free to stop at anytime reading this post, I got a lot of links, and you are NOT going to get through all of these links in one sitting. Even if you are a crazy internetter like me.

Okay, had a breather? Here we go...

This is another thing I found browsing lifehacker, but it really needs it's own section. You know why? 'Cuz it's the worlds fastest shoelace knot!
Watch that animated gif, that's not an exaggeration. You can really tie your shoes in a second. Since I learned this, I do it every morning. If you get a shoe in front of you and practice, it'll take you 10 minutes to learn. You guys balk now, but the next time you're late to turn in an essay and you're taking a full 12 seconds to tie your shoes, you're gonna remember this knot. And regret not learning it. D=<

So stop NOW and learn it! It's okay. The rest of this post will still be here when you get back.

Got it? Good.

Mailinator allows you to use a quick email address for websites you don't want to be able to spam you with emails:

Multiurl is like tinyurl but allows for multiple links:

And voila! Download links!

Oh, and "Control-F" allows you to find text on a page immediately. I really hope you knew that already.

Must have Firefox extensions:
Adblock Plus. Never see a banner ad again. Seriously. You know that Mafia Wars ad to the right of this post. I don't see that and it doesn't load.

Tineye is a reverse image search, when you rightclick an image in Firefox, you'll be able to search for similar images in their database:

Linkification, all those purely text links become clickable.

Invisible hand, if you're on Amazon or somewhere thinking about buying something, Invisible hand will find where that exact same product you're looking at is cheaper elsewhere online:

Okay, that was the interesting stuff, now I'm going to delve into the realm... of entertainment.

This is dangerous territory here. More than 20 hours of video is uploaded to Youtube Every. Single. Minute. Okie dokey, let's take Sturgeons law and say that 90% of everything is crap, useless entertainment. Let's kick it up a notch, let's say that 99% of everything is crap. If we take that into account on Youtube. That means that for every minute that passes, twelve minutes of top notch stuff to watch gets uploaded. It is impossible in one lifetime to possibly watch all of that, and it's actually good stuff! It is for that reason, the fact that it's impossible to watch everything cool on just the website Youtube alone, means that we should never consume the same entertainment twice ever again. So savor your free time everyone.

And this is where I invite everyone to leave, because it's just silliness from here on out.

Entertainment:

When I said there would be nothing but silliness from here on out, I wasn't kidding.

This seems like such a safe Wiki. But don't be fooled. If you're a crazed tabbed browsing kind of a person, and you get sucked in, TVTropes will suck you in and never let you out. And you won't want to leave. And the more entertainment you've consumed in your life, the more you can identify the cliches involved with those shows. And everything just gets funnier from there. (Cursing!)

The icanhascheezburger network.
It's a huge selection of funny images designed to ruin your time. But you'll laugh the entire time you're doing it:

Onemanga.com
Use in combination with MangaCheetah (Firefox), which is a greasemonkey script that allows you (once you download greasemonkey) to read onemanga 20 pages at a time instead of one.
I would highly recommend giving this a read: http://www.onemanga.com/Pokemon_Special/1/00/
It's surprisingly violent and one of the best mangas I've ever had the pleasure of reading. I mean just look at it:
Zombie pokemon!

If your curious what kind of music I liked, here's my Top 25 most played in iTunes:

GameFAQs:
Well, you probably don't know this about me, but I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. One of the things that you can do as a member of my church is to go serve as a missionary. You've probably seen them around. They're the guys that are wearing suits, riding bikes, yeah. I'm gonna go be one of those guys.

I'm saying goodbye everyone. I really liked this place. I liked being here, I liked talking to people. I liked watching stuff happen. But this is goodbye. I'm leaving for two years. I'm going to stop lurking online and in real life. I've been lurking and just sitting by watching stuff happen in the real world. I'm off to go change that. I'm off to go get some experience points. Hopefully I'll gain a few levels. I think I've found happiness, and I'm going to go share what I've found.

I initially came to GameFAQs to get advice on video games since I was so horrifically bad at them. I lurked here because I saw others with interesting things to say. I posted here because I wanted to try to become a person with interesting things to say. I went back to lurking because I thought I had failed. Who's to say I did or didn't fail? Only me. I say I failed because I gave up. I've spent so much time here, I feel like there should be more to show for it. Something to say I was here, and that I had fun. I have nothing but the memories of my experiences.

However, I figured out something. Life's an RPG. You don't get any experience points for an activity until you DO that activity. If I want to be a better writer you don't get that way by aging and suddenly you can write. No, you get to be a better writer by writing. If you want to be a better poster, you have to post. Sure, the first few thousand posts won't be that great. But continue pressing forward. Keep gaining experience points with everything you do. Your posting ability will "Level Up." You'll get better at it over time! But you have to start, you have to continue. And if you feel yourself in a rut, YOU MUST RECOVER! Adjust what you want to do. Get those first thousand push-ups, posts, song notes, video editing, photoshops, computer programs, under your belt. It'll take a while, but the more you do it, the better you'll be at it. It would be so much easier if you could quantifiably watch your experience meter go up and watch the points and progress you're making, But there's no way to see that in real life. But it will happen, you'll be leveling up, trust me. Keep finishing, keep trying new things. You don't get any experience points until you actually do it! Life's an RPG, so level up!

I'm off to go level up. See y'all again in two years.
